Finally - they listened. After Cingular discontinued my insurance plan because I had too many water damage claims, I asked why can't they just come up with a waterproof, droppable phone for all the klutzes out there? Well - here it is folks, Made for Marie - the Verizon Gzone.
I'm also true fan of Verizon's point of purchase display marketing. The phone is placed inside a fish bowl with a live goldfish. A sign tells customers in the store to "CALL THE FISH". Apparently the fish responds very favorably to the Verizon Ringtone and starts to swiggle swagger around.

Dear Verizon Lover,
This is a fantastic advancement in the history of cellular phone development. Think of all those poor college kids who get drunk on a regular basis and drop their cell phones in the toilet; Now they may still use them after the dipping and do all the drunk calling they must!- might inhibit people from spontaneous ear nibbling for hygene reasons though.
And I must agree with you on the point of purchase advertising as being funny and memorable, none the less Im afraid I will have to call PITA on this one....Or maybe I should call the Fish to see how she/he trully feels about this..
I actually saw the immediate after-effects of Marie dropping her cell phone in a toilet...so I'll go ahead and say she definitely breaks the mold of those "poor drunk college kids" who do the same! :)
I haven't seen that display yet, but it looks amazing in the picture and I can imagine it could be quite fun for the goldfish. I'm pretty impressed by whoever came up with it.
And talking about bubles, I just ran across this article where Dr.pepper is puting a band in a buble for everyone to watch while they write music. I still think that the fish is cuter but can he/she sing?
